Facilities

Having previously been located in Stanstead Abbotts Parish Hall for over 20 years, Bobtails Playgroup was lucky enough to be awarded a substantial grant by Hertfordshire County Council and nearly two years later in February 2011 we were handed the keys to our brand new purpose-built facility in the grounds of St. Andrews School in Stanstead Abbotts.

The building is warm and light having underfloor heating and large windows looking out onto one of the two outside play areas. The children come in through our wheelchair accessible entrance and hang their coats up on their named pegs in the separate cloakroom area. There are many toys to play and learn with in the main room including an interactive whiteboard.

There is a small but well-fitted out kitchen where snacks and drinks are prepared. There are children-sized toilets as well as a separate disabled toilet with nappy-changing.

Bobtails has two outside play areas. Our front area has a wooden playhouse with slide and a grassed area with sand and water available. This area is also great for gross motor skills.

Our back area we are lucky to have been able to fundraise for a canopy that can be used in all weathers. We have all sorts of adult led activities in this area with lots opportunities for children to extend their learning through play. Children are encouraged to play outside daily.
